What this is

Docs-only — adds a portable product/ directory (Problem Hypothesis, Lean Canvas, Stakeholder Map, Customer Interviews, Journey Map, Personas, Opportunities templates) meant to travel into the new repo alongside the technical RFC (docs/rfcs/0001-native-desktop-rewrite.md). This is the customer/business half of the founding story; the RFC is the engineering half.

Two documents are drafted with real content so far:

  • product/00-problem-hypothesis.md — our own claim on what's broken, who else has it, why now, and explicit non-goals. Resolved one internal contradiction along the way: this year we're a service business powered by internal tooling (subcontracted editing, e.g. via the podcast-studio partnership), not a self-serve product — that's an explicit future option, not a v1 goal.
  • product/01-lean-canvas.md — all 9 boxes filled, then reconciled against the pricing/market work already on the editing-services branch (docs/PRICING_TIERS.md, EDITING_PACKAGES.md, FINANCIAL_PROJECTIONS.md) so Customer Segments, Revenue Streams, Existing Alternatives, Cost Structure, and Key Metrics carry real tiers/numbers instead of placeholders.

Naming note: the product is called poddedit (the rewrite + service business). ragTech refers to the team/podcast specifically. This distinction is stated in product/README.md — worth making sure it's consistent everywhere going forward.

What I need from you two

  • Read 00-problem-hypothesis.md and 01-lean-canvas.md — this was drafted solo (me + Claude), and the canvas template explicitly calls for all three of us in the room. Flag anything that doesn't match your read of the studio negotiation or your own sense of the market.
  • Sanity-check the Customer Segments box specifically — it treats Segment 1 (the studio B2B2B deal) as primary/near-term, with Segments 2 and 3 (creator-led, business/thought-leadership podcasts) as real but secondary. Agree, or would you weight this differently?
  • One unresolved number: the 12-month success metric in the hypothesis doc says "10 podcast teams weekly," while FINANCIAL_PROJECTIONS.md's target scenario implies ~51 episodes/month across the three of us. These aren't obviously the same target — worth reconciling once the studio deal's actual terms are known.
  • Confirm "poddedit" is locked in as the product name.

Suggested next step

Once we're aligned on the canvas, 02-stakeholder-map.md is next in the sequence (product/README.md has the full recommended order), followed by actual customer interviews outside ragTech to start testing these assumptions for real.

The stakeholder map, journey map, personas, opportunities, i think we should do those after the first round of customer interviews if the interviews surface something the canvas missed. Also dont want too many docs with repeated/to be filled info

…+ Lean Canvas

Adds a portable product/ directory (Problem Hypothesis, Lean Canvas,
Stakeholder Map, Customer Interviews, Journey Map, Personas,
Opportunities templates) meant to be carried into the new repo
alongside the technical RFC. Problem Hypothesis and Lean Canvas are
drafted with real detail: the B2B2B subcontracted-editing partnership
in negotiation, existing-alternative pricing benchmarks, and the
local-AI cost/sustainability angle as a structural unfair advantage.
Both are first-pass hypotheses pending cofounder review and customer
interviews, not validated conclusions.

Names the product (poddedit, distinct from ragTech the team/podcast)
and replaces "undecided" placeholders in Existing Alternatives,
Customer Segments, Revenue Streams, Cost Structure, and Key Metrics
with the concrete tiers, three named segments, and financial targets
already drafted on the editing-services branch for the podcast-studio
negotiation. Logged in the canvas's revision log as evidence-based,
not yet customer-validated.
